Job summary

Kedrion Biopharma in Elstree (Hertfordshire) invites applications for a Raw Materials Analyst to join the Materials Compliance team. The role is on-site, ideal for recent Life Science graduates or early-career professionals who want hands-on experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment.

You will inspect and assess incoming materials against approved specs, perform sampling, testing, and release/rejection activities, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or Biochemistry.
• Computer literate – competent in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel at an intermediate level.
• Communication skills – Able to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team, managers peers and clients.
• Practical laboratory skills.
• Experience of inspecting materials is desirable.
• Understanding of GMP/GLP.
• Good knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, both within a laboratory and across pharmaceutical processes.
• Knowledge of laboratory SOPs and ability to revise and write new procedures.
• Basic Disclosure Security check plus 5 year work/education references with no gaps.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess incoming materials and components against approved specifications/ documentation ensuring materials are suitable for use in manufacturing.
• Perform and support the sampling, testing, quarantine and release/rejection of raw materials and components in accordance with approved procedures.
• Undertake a range of raw material testing activities following appropriate training and competency assessment, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, BPL policies and GMP.
• Preparing reagents, standards and control samples required for testing ensure appropriate laboratory housekeeping and safe working practices are maintained.
• Work collaboratively with Warehouse, Quality, Manufacturing, Laboratory and other relevant departments to ensure materials are available for use in accordance with quality and operational requirements.
• Promptly identify, document and elevate deviations, out-of-specification (OOS), out of trend (OOT) and other atypical results, supporting investigations where required.
• Ensure OOS, invalid results and other quality related records are initiated and progressed in a timely manner.
• Accurately record, review, collate, and report test and inspection results using approved documentation and computer systems.
• Maintain accurate material status, traceability and documentation records, ensuring materials are appropriately identified and controlled throughout the warehouse and testing process.
• To ensure equipment used is clean, calibrated and maintained. Perform system suitability checks where required.
