Job summary

Mane is seeking a Senior Network Design Engineer / Team Leader to provide technical leadership and deliver network architectures across complex railway and safety-critical projects in the UK. You will design data networks supporting station systems, SCADA, signalling and backbone communications, collaborating with customers, project teams and partners.

Responsibilities include delivering LAN/WAN designs, IP addressing, security architectures and supporting onsite testing, with a focus on safety,

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent in engineering/technical discipline.
CCNP level or equivalent practical experience.
Strong experience in LAN/WAN architecture and network security.
Experience with SISS/station systems, SCADA and control networks in safety-critical environments.
Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle and railway standards.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical delivery of network architectures and designs across railway projects.
Design and review LAN/WAN, industrial Ethernet, SCADA and station networks (CCTV, voice, passenger information).
Produce network architecture documents, IP addressing and cable schedules.
Develop secure network solutions including firewalls, DMZs, IPsec and authentication.
Gather customer requirements and develop technical proposals.
Develop test specifications and support onsite build, integration and testing.
Ensure designs meet quality, security and safety standards and align with programme.
Present technical solutions to customers and stakeholders.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to engineers.
