Job summary

Transport for London is recruiting an Engineer - Vehicles for Field & Component Test. The role focuses on testing railway systems, measuring performance and leading testing activities across TfL sites and projects.

You will conduct field trials, monitor asset conditions and coordinate teams, while engaging with stakeholders and maintaining safety standards. The role involves some night/weekend work and site-based duties across the TfL network.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing high quality technical reports and knowledge of national/international standards.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition methods.
• Experience with structural/dynamic measurement equipment and analysis software.
• Experience in test specification, design and manufacturing of test rigs.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking measurements, failure investigations and field trials of transport systems.
• Asset condition monitoring and data acquisition.
• Lead teams and coordinate testing on operational sites.
• Engage with senior leaders, TfL teams, regulators and staff.
