Job summary

Kenton Black Limited is actively recruiting an experienced Site Engineer to join our civil engineering team working on major infrastructure projects around Birmingham and Coventry. You will provide on-site technical support, carry out setting out and surveying, review drawings, and ensure works meet drawings, specs and programme requirements.

Ideal candidates will have track drainage or rail civils exposure, CSCS certification, and a civil engineering qualification; strong IT and reporting

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer within civil engineering or rail.
• Track drainage experience or drainage experience within a rail environment.
• Experience with setting out and surveying.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience working on major infrastructure or heavy civils projects.
• Strong IT and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant engineering qualification such as HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
• Appropriate CSCS/engineering certification.
• Rail experience and relevant rail competencies would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support across track drainage and associated civil engineering works.
• Carry out setting out and surveying duties using appropriate equipment.
• Interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications and design information.
• Ensure works are constructed to the required levels, lines, tolerances and specifications.
• Assist with the delivery of track drainage, ducting, pipework, chambers and associated civils.
• Carry out quality inspections and maintain accurate site records.
• Complete site measurements, as-built information and relevant engineering documentation.
• Liaise with Site Agents, Sub Agents, Foremen and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered effectively.
• Monitor progress and identify any technical issues or discrepancies.
• Assist with resolving engineering and construction queries on site. Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Support the wider project team with planning and coordination of engineering activities.
