Freightliner Group Ltd is seeking a Long Term Planner to work with Network Rail and stakeholders to deliver long-term timetable and engineering access planning. You will maintain the Working Timetable, optimise it for reliability and efficiency, and coordinate engineering access to minimise disruption to Freightliner services.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, knowledge of planning processes, and excellent communication.

Competenze

• Excellent knowledge of freight train operations and railway geography.
• Understanding of industry timetable planning processes incl. Network Code.
• Knowledge of engineering access planning and possessions processes.
• Ability to interpret planned engineering access requirements and develop solutions.
• Strong computer skills and experience with train planning software (ATTune, VoyagerPlan, Integrale, TPS, TOPS, TRUST).
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home as required.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building across stakeholders.

• Deliver a long-term timetable and engineering access plan that meets Freightliner’s commercial requirements.
• Maintain and optimise the Working Timetable for service delivery.
• Coordinate engineering access planning to minimise disruption and protect commercial interests.
• Represent Freightliner in industry planning forums and ensure integration into long-term plans.
• Produce analyses, reports and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
