Job summary
CML is seeking a Scheme Project Manager with a strong Civil Engineering background to oversee structures works and examinations on rail infrastructure in the Wigan area. You will coordinate examiners, subcontractors and site teams, ensuring NR standards are met and programmes kept on track.
Key responsibilities include developing examination programmes, liaising with project delivery teams, and maintaining critical reporting systems.
Qualifications
- Experience delivering structures works and examinations in rail.
- Knowledge of Network Rail standards and examination requirements.
- Familiarity with CARRS/ALARM/Monitor systems.
- Ability to plan Work Package Plans and Task Briefings.
- Experience coordinating examiners, subcontractors and site teams.
- CM/health and safety regs knowledge (CDM, SMSTS, PTW).
- Strong organisational and reporting skills.
- Ability to liaise with clients/landowners to secure consents.
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and deliver structures works and examinations to NR standards.
- Coordinate examiners, subcontractors, and supervisors for safe delivery.
- Develop programmes for examinations and track actions within timescales.
- Liaise with delivery teams to support successful delivery of works.
- Ensure resources are scoped and used efficiently for structures activities.
- Monitor progress, resolve access/resource/programme constraints.
- Maintain NR systems (CARRS/ALARM/Monitor) for reporting.
- Produce briefs, Work Package Plans, and completion packs.
