Job summary

Unipart Rail is seeking an Electronics Engineer to design and implement cutting-edge railway signalling products. You will lead prototyping, testing, and refinement of electronics while collaborating with software, mechanical engineering, and project management teams.

You will participate in project planning, manage timelines, and support manufacturing with build improvements. The role emphasizes autonomy, mentorship, and career growth within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electronics Engineering.
• 3+ years design experience in full lifecycle projects.
• Experience of PCB design and best practices for PCB layout.
• Experience in analogue and digital electronic design.
• Experience in the product design lifecycle – from concept to introduction into manufacturing (ideally in a safety‑critical industry).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent team player.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new electronic railway signalling solutions.
• Prototype and test designs to ensure safety-critical reliability.
• Assist in project planning and manage timelines to milestones.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical engineers and project managers.
• Support manufacturing with process improvements and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of components.
