Job summary

Ground Control is seeking an experienced RRV Operator to join our Rail team on a zero-hours PAYE basis, operating On Track Plant safely across nationwide projects. You’ll work in a flexible, safety-critical role with potential short-notice shifts, nights and weekends, reporting to the Machine/Crane Controller and POS Representative.

You will perform checks, remain within gauge and lifting limits, and liaise with controllers and site teams, all while adhering to RAMS and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' OTP experience on rail projects.
• Current Sentinel competence for OTP machines.
• Full UK driving licence and good safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate OTP on rail projects under supervision.
• Complete daily and pre-use checks; ensure machinery is safe.
• Operate only if fully qualified and authorised to work.
• Liaise with controllers and site teams.
• Follow RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Keep plant within gauge and lifting limits.
• Work around ALO requirements and rail constraints.
• Maintain a methodical, proactive approach.
• Adapt to changing project requirements and shifts.
