Job summary

Ground Control is seeking an experienced RRV Operator to join our Rail team on a zero-hours PAYE basis, operating On Track Plant safely across national rail projects. You will work under the Machine/Crane Controller and POS Representative, ensuring operations comply with Network Rail requirements.

Candidates should have at least 2 years OTP experience, Sentinel competence, a full UK driving licence, and flexibility for nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' OTP experience.
• Current Sentinel competence for relevant OTP machine types.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Network Rail Detailed ALO Knowledge Briefing.
• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and short-notice shifts.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate OTP on rail projects under the direction of the Machine/Crane Controller or POS Representative.
• Complete daily and pre-use checks and ensure machinery is safe and fit for service.
• Only operate machinery for which you hold the relevant competence and Authority to Work.
• Liaise with controllers, POS representatives and site teams.
• Follow instructions, RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Ensure plant remains within gauge and operates within lifting limitations and the Lift Plan.
• Work safely around ALO requirements and other rail operational constraints.
• Maintain a methodical, proactive approach to all work.
• Be flexible and responsive to project requirements and changing shift patterns.
