Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking a Field Service Engineer for a Rail engineering company covering the Midlands and South areas. This home-based role requires travel to rail depots; full training will be provided on company products, with exposure to rolling stock or locomotive maintenance essential.

The position offers a basic salary of £46,000 per annum, with an on-call element boosting earnings to over £52,000, plus a van, fuel, and accommodation if required when staying away for jobs.

Qualifications

• Rolling stock or Locomotive maintenance experience required.
• Mechanical or electrical background advantageous.
• Diesel engine experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance on a fleet of locomotives across the UK.
• Work autonomously using tools and procedures and your own initiative.
• Respond to unscheduled events quickly and efficiently.
• Carry out maintenance across sites within reasonable distance from home.
• Identify and repair defects that risk loco failure.
• Participate in rolling days/nights on-call roster.
