Job summary

Example Recruitment Group in Newcastle is recruiting an experienced Reliability Engineer to join the Performance & Engineering team in Newcastle. You will improve reliability, availability and fleet performance for modern EMU rolling stock, using data-driven approaches and close collaboration with engineering teams, customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

Essential: rail engineering/rolling stock expertise.
NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification.
Time-served Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering background.
Strong knowledge of modern EMU rolling stock systems.
Proven fault trend analysis with Power BI, dashboards and data analysis.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
Experience with structured root cause investigations (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, Fault Tree).
Understanding of Reliability Engineering principles; KTIN, failure trend & fleet monitoring.
Experience with OEM environments or OEM service contracts.
Experience using fleet maintenance or engineering management systems.
Ability to diagnose complex multi-system faults.
Strong communication with customers, suppliers, OEMs, and internal teams.
UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

Apply data-driven analysis to identify reliability trends across the fleet.
Lead root cause investigations to resolve complex engineering issues.
Develop dashboards and analyses in Power BI to support fleet performance improvements.
Collaborate with engineering teams, customers and suppliers to implement improvements.
Travel to other UK locations when required to support projects.
