Job summary

Path Recruitment Ltd is partnering with an established civil engineering company in Nottingham to recruit a Rail Plant Engineer. You will maintain, service and fault-find on road-rail vehicles and rail plant, visiting sites across Nottinghamshire to keep equipment safe, reliable and operating.

The role is Monday–Friday with substantial overtime, offering realistic earnings of £60,000–£70,000 per year. A van, fuel card and full driving licence are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working on rail plant or road-rail vehicles.
• Valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) card.
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
• Experience maintaining and repairing plant or heavy equipment.
• Safety-focused approach with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to travel across the West Midlands.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, repair and fault-find on road-rail vehicles and specialist rail plant.

About the Role:

Rail Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, repairing and fault-finding on a range of road-rail vehicles and specialist rail plant.

• Working across the Nottinghamshire, you will attend sites to ensure machinery is maintained to a high standard and kept safe, reliable and operational. You will diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults, carry out planned and reactive maintenance, and support the wider engineering team when required.
• This is a Monday–Friday position with significant overtime available, providing genuine potential to increase your annual earnings to £60,000–£70,000.

About You:

To succeed as a Rail Plant Engineer, you will have:

• Proven experience working on rail plant or road-rail vehicles
• A valid Personal Track Safety card (PTS Card)
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills
• Experience carrying out maintenance and repairs on plant or heavy equipment
• A safety-focused approach and good attention to detail
• The flexibility to travel across the West Midlands
