Job summary

South Western Railway is seeking a Rail Operator to ensure trains are dispatched safely and efficiently, and stations are presented to high standards. You will provide up-to-date travel information and assist customers in reaching their destinations on time.

You will be the face of SWR, delivering personalised service, handling a variety of tasks, and supporting passengers with accessibility needs while adhering to safety protocols. A flexible, customer-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Must pass medical including vision and hearing tests.
• Visa holders must have 6 months remaining at appointment.
• Willingness to work shifts including weekends and nights as part of a roster.

Responsibilities

• Safely dispatch trains from the platform, ensuring passengers are clear of the train while the correct signal is shown.
• Provide up-to-date travel information for customers and assist them in reaching destinations safely and on time.
• Offer passenger assistance for luggage or aiding boarding and alighting with ramps.
• Maintain station cleanliness and safety, and help with other tasks to ensure quality standards.
