Job summary

Arup in the United Kingdom seeks an MEP Project Lead Engineer to shape and deliver major rail and transport projects. You will lead technical delivery, support multidisciplinary teams and contribute to outcomes for clients and communities.

The role offers leadership opportunities in a growing sector, with exposure to HS2, TfL and Network Rail projects and collaboration across Arup’s global teams.

Qualifications

• Must be a Chartered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with strong multidisciplinary MEP design knowledge.
• Proven experience managing transport or rail projects within a consultancy environment.
• Understanding of major rail standards, assurance processes and MEP design delivery requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication and client-facing skills; ability to represent Arup externally.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams from project inception through to completion.
• Oversee MEP design production, assurance and compliance with major rail standards (HS2, TfL, Network Rail).
• Act as Electrical Technical Advisor where required; electrical background advantageous.
• Manage design programmes and resources with project planners and discipline leads.
• Support bids and business development; shape rail sector skills and resources.
• Maintain awareness of legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
• Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative culture with diverse experiences.
