Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Ltd in Huddersfield is recruiting a Commercial Assistant to support the commercial team on a major rail infrastructure programme. The role begins as a 6–9 month secondment, before integrating back into the wider business.

The successful candidate will assist with daily commercial administration, including labour call-offs, payments, amendments, and audit trails, with a view to future progression within commercial management.

Qualifications

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience in commercial, finance, procurement or administration desirable.
• QS/commercial/construction qualification advantageous.
• Rail/infrastructure experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support weekly labour call-offs and orders.
• Check timesheets, rates and supplier applications for payment.
• Process authorised amendments and variations.
• Maintain commercial trackers, records and audit trails.
• Liaise with suppliers and project teams to resolve queries.
• Provide general commercial and administrative support.
