Job summary

Navartis Ltd. in Derby is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer to support complex rail electrification and energy infrastructure projects from design through site support and project close.

You will deliver detailed calculations, schematics and reports, collaborating across disciplines to drive efficiencies and ensure safe, compliant outcomes. The role requires experience in T&D or railway traction markets, understanding HV/LV systems and power studies, and a track record of producing

Qualifications

• Experience in the T&D energy or railway traction power markets.
• Understanding HV/LV systems, substations, earthing, or power system studies.
• Ability to produce and review detailed engineering outputs (calculations, schematics, reports).
• A collaborative approach with the ability to work across disciplines.
• Technical oversight, mentoring, and design review expertise.

Responsibilities

• Produce & detail check design deliverables & calculations to standards.
• Develop and manage design toolsets to drive efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Detail check and produce design drawings using Bentley MicroStation.
• Support site teams on‑site and update designs to RFI/SI/TQ/FCR.
• Produce outputs to programme timescales with clear justification.
• Engage with other disciplines to deliver integrated electrical designs.
• Pursue CPD and maintain project records for audit.
• Support safe-by-design throughout all deliverables.
