Job summary

Navartis Ltd in Glasgow/ Coatbridge is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to drive the delivery of complex rail electrification projects from initial design through to site support and project completion.

You will produce detailed design outputs, utilise Bentley MicroStation, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure high-quality electrical design. The role offers a path toward Chartered Engineer status with a strong package and on-site work in Scotland.

Qualifications

• Experience in the T&D energy or railway traction power markets.
• Understanding of HV/LV systems, substations, earthing, or power system studies.
• Ability to produce and review detailed engineering outputs (calculations, schematics, reports).
• A collaborative approach with the ability to work across disciplines.
• Technical oversight, mentoring, and design review expertise.
• Full driving licence and vehicle.
• Full right to work the UK (no sponsorship can be offered).

Responsibilities

• Produce & detail check design deliverables & calculations to relevant standards.
• Develop, manage & utilise design team toolsets to drive efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Detail check & produce design drawings using Bentley MicroStation within Projectwise environment.
• Support site teams with on-site work and update designs to reflect queries and field changes.
• Produce & check design outputs to agreed timescales with clear justification.
• Engage with other disciplines to deliver integrated electrical design outputs.
• Pursue CPD towards chartered engineer status and maintain project records.
