Job summary

Survey Solutions seeks an Associate Director to oversee operations, drive strategic growth, and manage revenue performance across rail, infrastructure, utilities and government projects. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, handle client relations, develop business opportunities and ensure high standards of delivery and compliance.

The role combines office-based leadership with site/meeting attendance, requiring strong communication, strategic thinking and a willingness to travel regionally.

Qualifications

• Experience in management within rail sector (3+ years).
• Experience implementing operational improvements and best practice (3+ years).
• Proficient with a range of surveying equipment.
• Strong understanding of P&L and cost control.
• Knowledge of tendering processes and commercial awareness.
• Experience producing track monitoring plans and CRT assessments.
• CRE experience in track or civils.

Responsibilities

• Oversee divisional operations to ensure technical excellence and client satisfaction.
• Implement standardised procedures across offices.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on tenders and proposals.
• Manage department P&L, drive revenue growth and profitability.
• Drive productivity and efficient utilisation across the business.
• Report financials to senior leadership and identify risks.
• Identify new market opportunities and grow client accounts.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing department.
