Job summary

Freightliner Group Ltd in Cardiff is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to support loading and unloading at our state-of-the-art infrastructure. You will operate cranes and lifting gear, manage train arrivals and departures, and perform train shunting in line with local work instructions.

This safety-critical role requires a pre-employment medical assessment under ROGS regulations. Shift pattern includes a mix of day and night work, with Saturday rota duties.

Qualifications

• Experience operating cranes and lifting equipment.
• Ability to load/unload freight from HGVs and trains.
• Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
• Good communication with yard teams and coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Operate gantry cranes and lifting equipment safely.
• Load and unload freight from HGVs and trains.
• Ensure safe arrival/departure of freight trains and perform train shunting per instructions.
• Check container locking mechanisms and coordinate with yard teams.
