WM Trains Limited in Birmingham is seeking a Technician at New Street to maintain, repair, overhaul and modify rolling stock to approved standards. You will work independently and in teams to keep rolling stock safe and reliable for service.

The role involves servicing, preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health, safety and depot procedures, with opportunities to mentor entrants and operate plant equipment as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Completed apprenticeship or relevant electrical/mechanical engineering qualifications.
• Knowledge of West Midlands Trains rolling stock is desirable and training may be provided.
• Road Vehicle driving licence and authority to drive Railway Service vehicles.
• Emergency First Aid certification is compulsory.

Aufgaben

• Complete servicing, maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification of traction and rolling stock.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on rolling stock to specs.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, regulations and depot protection rules.
• Attend to in-service failures where competent and act as Designated Person when required.
• Maintain safe systems of work and oversee records and reports of work done.
• Adhere to Stores Procedures and ensure cost-effective use of materials.
• Drive company road vehicles as required.
• Instruct and mentor new entrants, apprentices and visitors when needed.
• Operate powered plant equipment as required.
