Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Estimator within the Cost & Commercial Management Team of the PMCM Rail Group. You will develop robust rail cost estimates across tracks, civils, stations, electrification, signalling and depots, influencing investments and programme outcomes.

You'll work with Network Rail, train operators, contractors and supply chains, in a collaborative environment with mentoring and clear career progression, supported by WSP’s hybrid working policy.

Qualifications

• Rail Estimating experience with measurement methods (RMM1, MMHW, CESMM4).
• Bottom-up estimating from first principles.
• Experience with estimating software CostX and CANDY.
• Experience in Rail Systems/Engineering or Civil Engineering environments.
• Working knowledge of NEC Contracts or other standard forms.
• Experience delivering estimating/cost/commercial services in Rail or Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust, evidence-based rail cost estimates.
• Contribute to estimates across track, civils, stations, electrification, signalling, telecoms, depots, and rail systems.
• Broaden experience in rail cost planning, procurement support and cost assurance.
• Collaborate with Network Rail, train operators, major contractors and supply chain stakeholders.
• Support delivery of high‑quality estimating across programmes.
