Ramboll invites you to apply for a Rail Engineering Advanced Technician Apprenticeship in our Rail Systems Team, assisting in delivering Rail Systems design services across various projects. You will receive full support to achieve a Level 4 qualification (Rail Engineering), typically on a day-release basis, laying a solid foundation for a successful career.
The apprenticeship lasts 4 years, with costs covered by Ramboll through the Apprenticeship Levy. Qualifications awarded include:
Post-apprenticeship, there may be opportunities for career progression within Rail Systems or further education through apprenticeships.
You will work four days a week in your role and study one day a week at The Educationwise Academy, engaging in lectures, labs, tutorials, workshops, and online activities. The exact schedule may vary.
At the end of the apprenticeship, you will complete an End Point Assessment to demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and behaviors acquired.

As a Rail Engineering Advanced Technician Apprentice, you'll be part of a dynamic team in Southampton, working on cutting-edge railway design projects with experienced professionals. Your responsibilities will include applying engineering principles, designing solutions, project delivery, understanding industry regulations, and working towards professional accreditation.
Ideal candidates will have achieved or be on track for 3 A Levels including maths, possess 5 GCSEs including maths and English at grade 4/C or higher, and have a keen interest in the Built Environment. Strong communication skills, responsibility, and a willingness to learn are essential. Knowledge of CAD is a plus but not required.
