Job summary

Jacobs Graduate Development Program in Glasgow offers two years of blended learning, mentoring and real project work in railway electrical design. You’ll join the Glasgow E&P team, rotate through site visits, design tasks and technical reporting to support Transportation and EMEA strategies.

You’ll learn Amtech, ETAP, Dialux, MS Office, Microstation and Projectwise, with two days/week in the Glasgow office. Start date is March 2027 and a proactive, adaptable mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Aspiring electrical engineer currently studying for a degree in electrical engineering.
• Strong motivation to learn and develop technical skills on railway electrical systems.
• Permanent right to work in the UK and eligible to work in the UK.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support railway electrical design work and assist development of technical solutions.
• Assist site visits, testing/inspection of electrical installations and load monitoring surveys.
• Prepare technical reports and written documents for projects.
• Produce 2D/3D models and drawings within common data environments.
• Contribute to LV power, earth-free IT, 11kV systems and railway-specific systems design.
