Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer in London to program, set and operate CNC lathes for rail infrastructure components. You will read engineering drawings, select tooling, and ensure high-quality output in a safety-focused environment.

This long-term contract role offers day and night shift options with enhanced overtime, reflecting UK rail industry standards and a commitment to precision and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming and setting CNC machines.
• Experience using FANUC Lathe controls.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, including FeatureCAM and/or Autodesk Fusion.
• Familiarity with Heidenhain controls.
• Manual machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including optional night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set, and operate CNC lathes.
• Manufacture precision components for rail infrastructure.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Carry out machine set‑ups and tooling changes.
• Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Undertake manual machining where required.
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
• Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams.
