Job summary

Morson Group is recruiting a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our client near Hammersmith, London, on a long‑term contract. The role focuses on programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery for rail‑industry precision components, with strict quality and safety standards in place.

The position offers day and optional night shifts with competitive hourly rates, and a chance to contribute to critical London Underground infrastructure projects within a collaborative engineering

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming and setting CNC machines.
• Experience using FANUC Lathe controls.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (FeatureCAM and/or Autodesk Fusion).
• Familiarity with Heidenhain controls.
• Manual machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set, and operate CNC lathes.
• Manufacture precision components for rail infrastructure.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

CNC Machinist / Programmer – Rail Industry

Location: Hammersmith, London

Job Type: Long-Term Contract

Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 15:00
• Friday: 07:00 – 12:00
• Optional night shifts available

Pay Rates (Umbrella) PAYE is also available

Day Shift

• Standard: £40.54 per hour
• Overtime: £50.74 per hour

Night Shift

• Standard: £50.34 per hour
• Overtime: £63.00 per hour

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer, to join our client based in the Hammersmith area of London. This is a long‑term opportunity working within the rail industry, manufacturing precision components for the London Underground network, including station and track infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery to produce high‑quality components while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
