Job summary

Gi Group United Kingdom is seeking a CNC Turning Machine Operator in Ruislip, London. This hands-on role covers setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes to produce precision parts to tight tolerances.

The position offers day shifts, full-time or part-time options, with safety and quality at the core of daily work. You will interpret drawings, install tools, monitor performance, and perform routine inspections using calipers, micrometers and gauges.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of CNC turning processes.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with G-code (desirable).
• Competence using calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC turning machines, install tools and fixtures.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints and technical specifications.
• Operate CNC machines to manufacture components within tolerance limits.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as required.
• Carry out routine inspections using precision measurement tools.
• Ensure all finished parts meet quality and accuracy standards.
• Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major faults.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
• Follow all health & safety procedures and company operating standards.
