Job summary

Streamline Search is seeking a Civils Estimator based in Doncaster to review drawings and prepare detailed estimates for civil engineering and rail projects. You will oversee drainage, concrete and other civils works in railway depots, producing quantities and valuing labour, materials and subcontractor costs.

Key responsibilities include tender preparation, cost take-offs, supplier quotations, value engineering, and collaboration with commercial teams to ensure viable estimates.

Qualifications

• Experience producing detailed cost estimates, tenders and quotations.
• Ability to complete quantity take-offs from drawings and specs.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to site visits.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications to understand project requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates and competitive tenders for civil/rail projects.
• Complete accurate quantity take-offs for earthworks, drainage, concrete and civils.
• Obtain and analyse quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Price labour, materials, plant, subcontractor costs, preliminaries and overheads.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and project teams to clarify tender requirements.
• Identify commercial risks and cost exposure in tenders.
• Carry out value engineering to improve cost efficiency.
• Prepare tender documentation, pricing schedules and supporting information.
• Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings when required.
