Job summary

CML is recruiting two General Foremen for Bridgwater to join our multi-disciplinary civil engineering team. You will deploy personnel, plant and subcontractors to achieve site activities within programme and safety requirements.

Based at our Bridgwater depot, you will work on the Wales & Western CAM Framework for Network Rail, undertaking civils and earthworks tasks, supervising operatives, maintaining records and ensuring progress is on track.

Qualifications

• A background in Civil Engineering/Earthworks projects – Essential (Rail highly desirable)
• Experience in supervising, motivating and supporting the training of groups on site – Essential
• Strong Safety Awareness and compliance with policies
• SSSTS – Essential
• PTS - Essential
• Willingness to regularly work away from home, nights and weekends
• COSS - desirable

Responsibilities

• Carry out inductions, daily site briefings and inspections
• Organise, motivate and supervise site operatives and subcontractors
• Plan and manage programmes and drawings, update progress weekly
• Promote safety arrangements and ensure compliance with policies
• Maintain daily site records and report changes to Head Office
• Liaise with Site/Project Manager and Site Engineer on changes
• Identify training needs and review competencies
• Any other duties as required
