Job summary

Babcock in Glasgow is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to bridge CAD drawing work with design support on rail infrastructure projects. The role sits in the Civils Design team, offering exposure to 3D modeling, technical documentation and site survey information.

You’ll develop your engineering career, with progression toward Design Engineer positions, while collaborating with engineers to deliver safe, timely outcomes in a hybrid work setup at our Hamilton site near Glasgow.

Qualifications

• Practical CAD experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, construction or related projects.
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD for the creation and revision of engineering drawings.
• Experience supporting engineers with technical documentation, reports, surveys and design-related activities.
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with engineers and project teams.
• Experience delivering work to programme deadlines and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Producing and updating CAD drawings and 3D models for rail infrastructure projects.
• Supporting Design Engineers with technical documentation, reports and project deliverables.
• Assisting with surveys, data collection and engineering information management.
• Checking drawings and documentation to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely and on schedule.
