Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager in rail infrastructure to join a fast-paced programme in Stratford, London hybrid work, 6‑month contract, overseeing work packages and contractors.

You will support the Project Manager, coordinate across stations, trackside and signalling assets, and help ensure delivery in line with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an Assistant Project Manager or similar project delivery role.
• Strong rail or infrastructure project experience.
• Experience managing contractors, work packages and project reporting.
• Understanding of project governance and procurement processes.

Are you an experienced Assistant Project Manager with a background in rail infrastructure?

Do you have experience managing contractors, work packages and project reporting within a fast-paced rail environment?

Location: Stratford, London (Hybrid - 2 days in the office per week)
Rate: £375 per day umbrella
Contract: 6 months initially, with workload forecast to continue into 2028

The programme focuses on resolving infrastructure defects and issues arising from the introduction of new trains. You will manage work packages and contractors across multiple workstreams, supporting the Project Manager to ensure works are coordinated and delivered effectively.

This is a fast-paced role requiring someone who can hit the ground running, manage competing priorities and work with minimal training.

The role operates on a hybrid basis, with two days per week in the Stratford office. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are team days.

Desirable

• Previous TfL or London Underground experience.
• Experience working within fixed infrastructure, particularly station assets.
• Signalling experience.
