Job summary

Network Rail seeks a skilled Asset Protection Scheme Interface Manager to safely integrate externally funded projects within the railway, minimising operational impact.

You will manage client interfaces, ensure compliance with rail standards, and coordinate with industry partners to deliver complex projects safely and efficiently. This role offers visibility across major schemes and career progression within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Membership (or working towards membership) Association for Project Management.
• Achieved PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the operational railway and railway infrastructure.
• Demonstrable experience of delivery of projects in the rail environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of project commercial requirements & programme controls.
• Knowledge of health, safety & environmental requirements and legislation including CDM Regulations and CSM-RA.
• Knowledge of project budget management.
• Knowledge of PACE.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver solutions for externally funded, high-value projects and assure delivery in accordance with the PACE lifecycle.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure governance and assurance processes.
• Clarify operational interface requirements and devise solutions for early decision-making.
• Liaise with CDM Clients to establish principles for project compliance.
• Support interface with projects to secure resources and assure delivery per NR processes.
• Assist in identifying proposers for infrastructure changes under CSM-RA and monitor risk.
• Review lessons learned and develop mitigation strategies with stakeholders.
• Build relationships, manage expectations and champion project interests.
• Identify opportunities to reduce asset maintenance liabilities and drive efficiencies.
• Assist in recovering Network Rail costs in line with agreements.
• Provide support after accidents or near-misses and share learning.
