Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a Radiotherapy Practitioner to join the team at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent. The post suits a New Graduate Therapeutic Radiographer starting at Band 5, with duties including rotating through all sections and delivering accurate radiotherapy under supervision.

You will liaise with the Radiotherapy team and other health professionals, supervise students, and contribute to high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BSc in Radiotherapy or equivalent and be HCPC registered.
• Good written English is essential.
• Experience in radiotherapy techniques is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through all department sections as part of the Radiography team.
• Deliver accurate radiotherapy services responsive to patient needs.
• Supervise students and support training.
• Communicate with healthcare professionals about treatment plans.
• Discuss sensitive information empathetically with patients and carers.
• Use judgement in handling sensitive issues with professional discretion.
• Maintain effective communication within the department and with other Trust stakeholders.
• Collaborate with chemotherapy departments for peripheral clinics.
• Monitor patient welfare and report changes to the supervisor.
• Record faults and ensure a professional, welcoming department atmosphere.
• Deliver high standards of care through interpretation of treatment plans.
