Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is offering a permanent Radiopharmacy Technician position. Training will be provided, and you will develop skills in a highly specialised area of pharmacy and healthcare.

The role requires working the Radiopharmacy hours of 5:30am to 1:00pm and assessing candidates who may come from Pharmacy Technician, Science Manufacturing Technician, or science degree backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician, Science Manufacturing Technician, or degree in a science subject as a minimum requirement.

Responsibilities

• Preparing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.
• Undertake quality control testing of finished radiopharmaceutical products.
• Perform in-process checks on the work of other members of the team.
• Supervise and support less experienced staff undertaking radiopharmaceutical preparation.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, accuracy and compliance throughout all aspects of the role.
• Work closely with the senior Radiopharmacy team to support the development of services and processes.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Radiopharmacy in line with commercial and operational requirements.
• Follow all relevant procedures, regulations and quality management systems associated with the preparation and handling of radiopharmaceuticals.

Education

Degree-level qualification in a relevant science subject
