Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Radiology Department Assistant to support radiology services across multiple sites. The role covers basic nursing duties, patient preparation and assisting with procedures under radiology guidance, with full training provided.

You will work with Consultants, Sonographers and Radiographers, rotating across sites and weekends. The position is part-time with potential movement between sites including Christchurch Hospital and Community

Qualifications

• Basic nursing knowledge or caring background is advantageous.
• Training will be provided for the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing duties and patient care including dressings and observations.
• Assist Consultants with radiology procedures such as biopsies, drainages and aspirations.
• Input data into department computer systems.
• Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures while maintaining dignity.
• Prepare procedure rooms and lay up sterile trolleys.
• Assist patients during examinations and provide reassurance.
• Liaise with wards, departments and staff to arrange appointments and care.
