Job summary

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for Radiology to provide direct patient care in a full-time day position. The RN will assess patients, administer medications, and coordinate with imaging teams.

A strong emphasis on patient education, safety, and interdepartmental communication is essential. Required qualifications include an accredited nursing degree, NYS RN license, and BLS/ACLS; PALS is required within six months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current NYS RN license or eligibility.
• BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• PALS provider certification within six months of hire.
• Conscious Sedation competency required or within 3 months of hire.
• Telemetry and Cardiac Rhythm monitoring knowledge.
• IV Skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and coordinate nursing care with other disciplines.
• Develop and implement written care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications as needed.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Document patient education and progress in medical records.
• Communicate changes in condition to the Charge RN/Clinician.
• Participate in quality assurance activities.
