Job summary

West Berkshire Community Hospital in Newbury, part of the Royal Berkshire NHS Trust, is recruiting a part-time Band 3 Radiology Department Assistant. The role supports radiography services across Ultrasound, X-ray, Mammography, CT, Dexa and MRI, delivering clinical and clerical tasks within the Radiology Team.

You will assist Radiographers and radiologists, provide patient care, reception and administrative duties, and participate in the rotational shift system while upholding the Trust CARE

An opportunity has arisen for a part timeBand 3 Radiology Department Assistant based at West Berkshire Community Hospital in Newbury, part of the Royal Berkshire NHS Trust. West Berkshire Community Hospital has been designated as a Community Diagnostic Centre providing Plain film,CT, Mammography, MRI and Dexa services to the local community. The Post holder is expected to work as part of the Radiology Team providing both clinical and clerical support to those services.

Main duties of the job

• The postholder will assist Radiographers, Consultant Radiologists and other staff working within all sections of the Radiology Department at WBCH (to include Ultrasound, General X-Ray, Mammography, CT, Dexa and MRI) carrying out radiography-related duties, as required
• They will contribute to the provision of high quality patient care for all patients attending the Radiology Department, ensuring seamless delivery of services within the designated work area
• The postholder will carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care, under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner. To include supporting patients with personal care needs, and providing chaperoning support as required
• They will work within the reception areas and appointments centre, as required, performing patient reception duties, and general administrative & clerical tasks as defined by the Service Manager
• The post requires full participation in the rotational shift system
• The postholder is required to take accountability and responsibility for own actions ,and to work within the CARE values of the Trust
