Job summary

Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a permanent Radiology Health Care Assistant to support Diagnostic Procedures across Ultrasound, DEXA, Fluoroscopy and general radiography. The role covers 37.5 hours per week with flexibility across sites and shift patterns.

The post requires NVQ2 Health & Social Care or NHS Care Certificate, and completion of required competencies. Training and development opportunities are provided within a supportive Radiology team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or NHS Care Certificate is required.
• Willingness to work across multiple sites and flexible hours.
• Experience in NHS Radiology or hospital environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal and clinical care under supervision within Radiology.
• Prepare patients for imaging, including changing into gowns and pre-procedure instructions.
• Maintain sterile fields and assist with procedures, equipment and specimen handling.
• Record physiological measurements before and after procedures and ensure accurate documentation.
• Support safety in MRI areas, including screening for implants and following radiation protection rules.
