Job summary

The Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield, part of Circle Health Group, has an opening for a Radiographer in Imaging. This is a 15-hour per week role with a flexible shift pattern and a permanent contract.

Qualifications include BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography and HCPC registration, with NHS/UK hospital radiography experience. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Minimum of 6 months UK hospital radiography experience.
• Understanding of IR(ME)R, health and safety, infection control and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team oriented.
• Postgraduate imaging training in CT, MRI or theatre imaging is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures per protocols.
• Produce high-quality images to aid accurate diagnosis and minimise repeats.
• Adapt techniques for paediatrics, bariatrics and limited mobility patients.
• Provide a safe, dignified, patient-centred service and reassure patients.
• Monitor patient status and respond to any deterioration during procedures.
• Ensure equipment is tested, maintained and faults are reported.
• Assist in adoption of new imaging technologies and digital systems.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses and admin staff to ensure smooth pathways.

Salary: Up to £38,300.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.
We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.
This is a part time role for 15 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
• Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
• Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility
• Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
• Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
• Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
• Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
• Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment with a minimum of 6 months UK hospital (NHS or private) experience.
• Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.
