Job summary

The Park Hospital in Nottingham is recruiting a Radiographer to join the Imaging department on a bank basis. This role is for an "as and when required" basis, with weekend availability essential to cover busy periods and staff leave.

You will perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures, produce high-quality images, adapt techniques for paediatrics and other patients, and work with radiologists and nurses to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
• HCPC registration as Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
• Understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Postgraduate imaging training (e.g., CT, MRI) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures following referral and imaging protocols.
• Ensure high-quality images to support accurate diagnosis and minimise repeats.
• Adapt techniques for paediatrics and patients with limited mobility.
• Provide a safe, dignified, and patient-centred service throughout examinations.
• Monitor patients and respond to signs of deterioration when necessary.
• Ensure equipment is checked, maintained and faults reported promptly.
• Assist in implementing new imaging technologies and digital systems (PACS, RIS).
• Collaborate with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters and admin teams to coordinate care.

Salary: Up to £23.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.

This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Candidates must be available to work weekends.

Duties of this role include:

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
• Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
• Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility
• Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
• Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
• Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
• Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
• Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
• Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.
