Job summary

The Harbour Hospital in Poole, part of Circle Health Group, is inviting applications for a Radiographer to join the Imaging department on a full-time basis. The role involves 37.5 hours per week with a flexible 8am-8pm pattern and on-call from home, Monday to Friday with weekend on call.

Key duties include performing x-ray procedures, ensuring high-quality images, and supporting safe patient care with modern imaging tech and teamwork with radiologists and staff.

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
  • Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
  • Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
  • Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility.
  • Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
  • Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
  • Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.

The Harbour Hospital in Poole is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern. Flexible working 8am-8pm required with on-call from home, current work days are Monday - Friday with weekend on call.
