Job summary

The Meriden Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, in Coventry, is recruiting a Radiographer to join the Imaging department on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) with a salary up to £33,500 depending on experience, training and qualification. The role requires HCPC registration and a relevant radiography degree.

You will perform a range of radiographic procedures, ensure high-quality images, and work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, patient-centred care.

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • 6 months UK hospital (NHS or private) experience.
  • Understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Postgraduate training in CT/MRI/theatre imaging desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures following referrals and protocols.
  • Produce high-quality images to support accurate diagnosis and minimise repeats.
  • Adapt techniques for paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility.
  • Provide patient-centred service, keeping patients informed and comfortable.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to any deterioration.
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained and used safely.
  • Assist in new imaging technologies and digital systems (PACS, RIS).
  • Coordinate care with radiologists, consultants, nurses and admin teams.

The Meriden Hospital in Coventry is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in theImagingdepartment.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:
  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
  • Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
  • Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility
  • Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
  • Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
  • Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment with a minimum of 6 months UK hospital (NHS or private) experience.
  • Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.
