Job summary

Bright Technologies Ltd – BriTec in Sheffield is seeking a hands‑on Product Design Engineer to join the design team in a full‑time, office‑based role. You will create 3D models and detailed drawings for standard and bespoke radiation protection products, supporting projects from enquiry through to manufacture and installation.

Working closely with sales, production and shopfloor, you will produce BOMs, costings and technical documentation, using Autodesk Inventor in sheet metal environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year CAD/product design experience.
• Experience using Autodesk Inventor in sheet metal context.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Able to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality procedures.
• UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the design team to create 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Design standard and bespoke radiation shielding products based on customer requirements.
• Produce accurate bills of materials, costings and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales Manager and team members to provide technical input for quotations and proposals.
• Liaise with customers to clarify requirements and ensure designs meet intended use.
• Communicate with shopfloor to support machining, fabrication, welding, assembly and installation.
• Review existing products and support design changes and continuous improvement.
• Follow ISO 9001 procedures within the company.
