Job description

Our Defence & Aerospace team works on ambitious, multidisciplinary projects spanning intelligent sensing, resilient communications, autonomy and next-generation defence systems. One day you could be developing low-cost sensing technologies or secure communications for contested environments; the next, designing autonomous and attritable systems that help shape the future of defence.
You’ll work alongside bright, collaborative experts from across TTP, taking bold ideas from concept to deployable capability while tackling some of the toughest engineering challenges that really matter.
Our projects move from early-stage product development to customer deployment at pace, giving you the satisfaction of seeing your work making a tangible difference in the real world much sooner than in many engineering roles.
Our facilities are varied with a dedicated RF laboratory including anechoic chamber as well as an on-site micro-fabrication facility and general physics & materials laboratories.

The role

You’ll use your RF and radar expertise to develop specialist communications and radar payloads for clients ranging from innovative start-ups and scale-ups to Tier 1 defence and aerospace companies. You'll help create new capabilities across air defence, counter-uncrewed aerial systems (CUAS), non-standard communications and space situational awareness.
TTP values ambition, leadership, technical excellence, collaboration and great communication and provides a fantastic environment for you to be in control of your career. You can be involved in an exciting range of projects and client engagements, helping you expand your skills and interests in areas such as business development, project leadership, emerging technologies, and involvement in the many markets in which we and our customers operate. It's a role offering genuine variety, autonomy, teamwork, and tangible impact.
We’re looking for a commercially minded RF engineer who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Strong fundamentals in radar design and development, with hands-on experience, building, and debugging radar circuits and systems.
  • A 1st or 2:1 Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A creative, hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and work with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Curiosity and initiative to seek out new technologies and explore new opportunities.
Nice-to-have
  • Experience modelling and simulating complex RF systems.
  • Antenna design, modelling, and testing experience.
  • Expertise in digital signal processing for relevant applications.
