We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative R&D Technologist to join our dynamic research and development team. This role will focus on developing and optimizing botanical extraction processes for various industries, including food, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals. The successful candidate will be instrumental in advancing new product formulations and improving the efficiency and quality of botanical extraction techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Botanical Extraction Development: Design, optimize, and scale up extraction processes for botanical ingredients, ensuring the highest quality, yield, and sustainability.

Product Innovation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop new products based on botanical extracts, from concept through to commercialization.

Process Optimization: Develop and implement improvements in extraction technologies, including solvent, pressure, temperature, and time parameters, to achieve the desired quality and efficiency.

Laboratory Research: Conduct laboratory-scale trials to test and evaluate new extraction methods, formulations, and product prototypes.

Quality Control & Assurance: Ensure that all botanical extracts meet established standards for purity, potency, and consistency. Participate in quality control testing and troubleshooting during production.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and ensure all extraction processes and products comply with relevant regulatory bodies, including GMP, FDA, and EFSA guidelines.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of experimental protocols, results, and observations. Provide reports to senior management and contribute to technical publications as necessary.

Collaboration: Collaborate with other R&D departments, suppliers, and external partners to enhance botanical extraction processes and product offerings.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Food Science, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience in extracts or similar R&D roles within the food or nutraceuticals industry.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to innovate and improve extraction methods.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation, reporting, collaboration with cross-functional teams and presentations to customers.

Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality in both experimental and production processes.

Preferred Skills:

Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, and spectroscopy for identifying and quantifying botanical components.

Technical Expertise: Knowledge of various extraction methods, such as cold pressing, solvent extraction, steam distillation

Experience in Developing Flavours: Knowledge of flavour chemistry and experience working with botanical extracts to develop unique and natural flavours for food, beverages, or nutraceutical products.
