Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a part of Element Solutions Inc., is seeking a meticulous R&D Technician for our Wantage, Oxon facility. You will work on laboratory operations, handling chemicals, and supporting development projects with strong data recording and safety discipline.

The role is a fixed-term contract for up to 12 months. You will test samples, operate instruments, and analyze results while collaborating with R&D chemists to drive product performance improvements.

• Experience with DOE and statistical analysis software (e.g. Minitab) would be advantageous.
• Ideally degree qualified in chemistry or a related subject.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and test chemical samples according to established procedures.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Record and analyze test results accurately, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
• Support research and development projects by conducting routine and specialized tests.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies and ensure proper storage of chemicals.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines within the laboratory.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to testing or equipment.
• Support pilot-coating and formulation mixing for R&D Chemists.
• Carry out development product characterisation and performance evaluations.
• Provide statistical, product performance data in supporting Development Projects.
• Participate in technical discussions with R&D Chemists, providing scientific insight based on the product performance data
