Job summary

EY’s Global Grants Credits & Incentives team in central London is seeking an Engineering Consultant with a solid engineering background to help clients access R&D tax incentives for energy, oil and gas, and related process industries.

You will lead interviews with senior technical personnel, write technical reports, and assist with R&D tax claims, gaining exposure to R&D accounting and financial analysis while working within a diverse team of experts.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering (Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Petroleum preferred).
• 2+ years in engineering industry, ideally oil and gas or chemicals.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead interviews with senior technical personnel to identify R&D qualifying factors.
• Write and review technical project reports for R&D tax relief.
• Interact with clients' senior engineers to understand projects for R&D guidelines.
• Perform data analysis and calculate project expenditure.
• Apply problem-solving and critical thinking to project delivery.
• Build and maintain client relationships to provide high-quality service.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of advisory and manage risk.
• Adapt knowledge to different sectors and core capabilities.
