The role
- Identify qualifying R&D activities and expenditures through technical and financial discussions with clients for new and repeat claims.
- Lead R&D discussions and workshops, explaining the definition of R&D for tax purposes and providing sector-specific examples of qualifying activities.
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
- Proactively identify risks in claims.
- Compile technical and financial project reports to support R&D claims with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Manage daily aspects of claims projects, set timescales, and communicate confidently with clients about judgments and implications.
- Prepare initial responses to defend claims during HMRC R&D enquiries.
- Continuously develop your knowledge of R&D tax relief and related issues to stay updated in this evolving field.
