Job summary

TipTopJob in Preston is seeking an R&D Technician to transform new product concepts into prototypes and tooling. You will manufacture tooling, produce samples, and contribute in a three-person workshop within the R&D team, providing feedback in design reviews and collaborating with other departments to drive smarter tool-friendly designs.

The role requires sheet metal machining skills, welding, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to interpret detailed drawings.

Qualifications

• Experience making complex sheet metal products/tooling.
• Welding and sheet metal forming skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to interpret and build from detailed drawings.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure new product concepts are converted into prototypes and tooling.
• Cradle to grave manufacture of tooling and use to produce samples.
• Work in a three-person workshop team.
• Contribute to design reviews with feedback.
• Tool manufacture and development for production needs.
• Product verification and testing activities.
• Collaborate closely with other departments to meet project goals.
