Job summary

83zero Limited seeks an experienced R&D / Test Technician in Peterborough to work across mechanical, electrical and diagnostic powertrain tests. The role involves build, strip and rebuild tasks, test bed operations and data logging on next-generation powertrain projects.

The successful candidate will have a Modern Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering and 2–3 years of hands-on experience, with strong fault-finding and safety-check capabilities. 5 days onsite, ASAP start.

Qualifications

• Completed Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 2–3 years hands-on experience after apprenticeship
• Experience with powertrain components is a plus

Responsibilities

• Carry out build, strip, measurement and rebuild activities on powertrain components
• Support engine, transmission, hybrid and electric motor testing
• Operate test beds and diagnostic equipment
• Perform electrical safety checks on systems and components
• Diagnose faults and support repair activities
• Record measurements and test results clearly
• Follow engineering drawings, instructions and test plans
• Assist engineers with data analysis and investigations
• Raise issues and help drive improvements
• Collaborate with internal teams to keep projects on schedule
