Job summary

Entech Technical Solutions Limited in Peterborough is seeking an R&D Technician to join a leading engineering team, supporting development and testing of next-generation powertrain technologies. This hands-on role offers exposure to electrification, e-motors, hybrid powertrains, transmissions, and diesel technologies, plus prototype build, testing and test-bed development.

Hours are 37 per week, typically 07:30-16:00, with an ASAP start. Rate £27 per hour Umbrella (Inside IR35) OR £19.75 PAYE.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on engineering experience with mechanical or electrical systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic and testing activities.

Responsibilities

• Build, strip, inspect and rebuild powertrain, electrification, diesel and hybrid components.
• Support e-motor, hybrid and transmission development programmes.
• Carry out testing activities using test-bed software and follow detailed engineering test plans.
• Perform electrical safety checks including insulation resistance, ground bonding and Hi-Pot testing.
• Use diagnostic and service tools, including CAN-based systems, to support testing and fault diagnosis.

Requirements:

You’ll ideally have an apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with some hands-on experience.
